Academic Counselling
TIS offers academic counseling to support high school students in achieving their academic potential and post-secondary goals.
Our counseling department emphasizes the importance of university "fit," encouraging students to research schools holistically to determine which institutions align with their interests, rather than relying solely on rankings or isolated metrics. TIS provides a diverse array of courses through the Alberta curriculum, allowing students to explore multiple areas and discover their true passions.
Each fall, the TIS Counseling Department hosts a University Fair featuring over 70 universities from various countries. This annual event equips TIS students with essential information about degree programs, the university application process, and scholarship opportunities. It also provides a valuable opportunity for students to meet university representatives face-to-face, understand what admissions officers seek, and attend seminars and presentations. Students can ask questions directly and learn about universities they may not have previously considered.
