TIS students excel at DSEDJ's First Inter School Karate Cup

In the recent and first-ever Inter School Karate Cup, 16 students from grades 1 to 9 represented the Tiger spirit in Karate, Kata and Kumite. Students proudly wore the School’s logo emblem on their Karate-Gi in this 2-day tournament (8-9 October) organized by DSEDJ and the Macau Karate-do Federation and brought back an astonishing amount of 14 medals in total - well done!

Congratulations to all the participants and students for a job well done, and a special shout-out to the medal winners, including Mavis (Gr. 1) - the youngest amongst the participants - Chloe (Gr. 5),Julio (Gr. 6), Mavis (Gr. 7), Agnes (Gr. 7), Nathan (Gr. 8), Kyle (Gr. 9) and at last but not least, Vanessa (Gr. 9) whose impressive performance earned her two gold medals in Kata and a bronze in team Kumite. Karate is one of the many extracurricular activities that TIS offers students and it's a form of exercise that can strengthen the mind, physical fitness and self-confidence in children. Like any sport, it requires dedicated work to perfect the skills.
