TIS Holds Benefit Concert To Support Charity
The International School of Macao (TIS) proudly hosted its annual Benefit Concert on February 28, showcasing the incredible talents of students and staff while raising funds for a worthy cause. This year, the concert successfully raised over 23,000 MOP for charity.
Since its inception in 2009, the TIS Benefit Concert has become a cherished tradition, generating proceeds for various charitable initiatives. This year, all funds raised will support the Kianh Foundation, a non-government-funded school in Hoi An, Vietnam, dedicated to providing education and care for children with special needs.
The event is organised entirely by the High School Student Council, who worked diligently behind-the-scenes to ensure an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone, from performers to the audience. Students managed everything from coordinating the lineup to overseeing lighting and sound, putting their leadership and teamwork skills into practice.
"The Benefit Concert is not just a celebration of talent; it’s an opportunity for our school community to come together and make a difference" said Lorne Schmidt, TIS Head of School "We are proud to support the Kianh Foundation and contribute to such an important mission"
The concert featured a diverse lineup of performances, including singing, dancing, juggling diabolos, and instrumental music from a variety of instruments such as the cello, guitar, piano, guzheng, saxophone, and more. Teachers, staff members and past students also joined in, highlighting the spirit of unity as the entire school comes together for a meaningful cause, making it not just a celebration, but a true community effort.
This event reinforces TIS’s commitment to developing socially responsible leaders who are equipped to make a meaningful impact. The annual Benefit Concert not only allows students to express their creativity, but also instills the values of compassion and social responsibility, empowering them to effect positive change in both their local and global communities.
