IB Art Exhibition 2025

TIS hosted its annual IB Art Exhibition, with the Opening Night held on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025. The exhibition showcased the thought-provoking artworks curated by nine exceptionally talented IB art students.

This year’s IB Art Exhibition emphasized installation work, inviting visitors to engage with the space and the artworks on display. Each exhibit was meticulously crafted, demonstrating the artists’ mastery in selecting materials, exploring diverse themes, and arranging their pieces.

Throughout this process, students honed a strong conceptual and contextual approach, reflecting a deep understanding of the characteristics that underpin contemporary creative practice.

“The resulting portfolios not only exemplify their artistic growth and development but also stand as a testament to their profound artistic expression,” said Mark Jalland, IB Art Teacher “They should be commended for their level of maturity and commitment to the work.”

Lorne Schmidt, Head of School remarked “This exhibition is a celebration of creativity and hard work. Our students have shown remarkable dedication and innovation, and we are proud to provide a platform for their artistic voices.”

The TIS IB Art Exhibition provides the opportunity for the wider community to experience how TIS students continue to push the boundaries of artistic expression, gaining admissions to some of the world's leading art universities, such as the University of the Arts London (UAL), Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), among others.

As we continue to nurture the next generation of artists, this exhibition stands as a testament to the school’s dedication to art education and the importance of artistic expression in the development of well-rounded individuals.
