Bravo! TIS Winter Concert
The highlight of our musical year is the annual TIS Winter Concert. The concert was performed in front of a sold-out audience at Conrad Macao's LouLan Ballroom this year.
The chosen music presents a challenge to our young musicians who rehearse extensively from the start of the School year, under the guidance of Ms. Chu, who ensures that this challenge is met with resounding success!
The melodious concert was filled with classical pieces prone to instant recognition, such as the iconic Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, which elegantly commenced the show , performed by the TIS Flute Choir. Popular Christmas tunes filled the hall like Loesser's Baby, It's Cold Outside! performed by the TIS Jazz Band. The band was delighted to be joined by a very special guest guitarist, our own Secondary Principal, Lorne Schmidt! Bravo Mr. Schmidt!
The concert's programme was followed by an energetic performance of piano soloists Miranda Hua, Silvianna Choi and Xylophone soloist Bryan Wu. This acted as a prequel to the grand finale, Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture performed by the School's Concert Band. Finally, in honour of the 110th anniversary of Mahler's death, his masterpiece Symphony No. 1 the 3rd Movement, also known as "Titan", was performed by the TIS Symphonic Band. Congratulations to our Middle and High School students and teachers who helped make the Winter Concert a big success and thank you to the fantastic audience.
