Music to your ears - TIS Summer Concert 2023

Jun 14, 2023

Music is a powerful art form that can bring people together, and that’s what happened as friends and families gathered in the The Grand Hall of MUST University to appreciate the harmonies of TIS’s annual Secondary Summer Concert’s selection of pieces.

From the classical notes of Felix Mendelssohn’s ‘Nocturne from A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ opening the evening to the more modern ‘Lift Me Up’ by Rihanna, our Students displayed not only their wonderful musical talents but the love that they have for this art form.

Music has been an integral part of education for centuries. It is a powerful tool that teaches students about creativity and collaboration with others, as well as being an important outlet for self-expression.

As the night progressed, the ethereal notes of the flute quartet of Tchaikovsky’s "Danse Des Mirliton" filled the air, while the rich timbre of French horns announced the theme from Jurassic Park to the appreciative audience.

The wonderful mix of melodies included soloists performing pieces from Vivaldi, Dvořák and Shu Fu X, while the TIS Concert Band performed Beethoven’s ‘The Olympians’. To add to the joyful atmosphere, a lucky draw was held that delighted the winners as they collected their goody bags. Congratulations, students, on another successful Summer Concert!
