TIS Celebrates Historic Troupe Milestone
We marked a historic milestone by welcoming 23 new members into Troupe No. 11725 of the International Thespian Society (ITS). Guided by the dedicated leadership of Troupe Director Mr. Ferlisi, this inaugural group reflects the exciting theatrical energy growing across our campus.
This ceremony also celebrated the troupe’s newly elected officers:
President: Carol (Grade 11)
Vice President: Emmanuel Junior (Grade 12)
Treasurer: Candice (Grade 10)
Secretary: Apple (Grade 9)
A ceremonial charter signing by the officers, Mr. Ferlisi, and Secondary Principal Mr. Masters symbolized TIS’s official entry into the ITS, an organization founded in 1929 with over 2.2 million members worldwide.
Students were honored for their standout contributions:
Best Technician: Leah (Grade 12)
Best Actor: Carol (Grade 11)
Honor Thespians: Four students achieved 60+ points through their theatre involvement and accomplishments.
What it means to be a member of the ITS
Induction into the ITS is earned, not given. Students qualify by accumulating 10 Thespian points (representing approximately 100 hours of quality theatrical work, such as acting, playing an instrument in the band, stage managing, or set building).
As members of the world’s largest theatre honor society, they receive recognition recorded permanently in international documentation, which can be noted on college applications and resumes to reflect leadership and commitment.
TIS looks forward to building on this moment by continuing to nurture the arts and supporting student success in every area, as our newest Thespians carry ITS’s motto: “Act well your part; there all the honor lies.”
