TIS Welcomes The University of Cambridge
The International School of Macao (TIS) held an information session on Saturday, April 19, 2025, featuring Dr. Kamran Yunus, the Director of Admissions and International Programmes at Downing College, University of Cambridge. With over 100 people in attendance, this event provided a unique opportunity for students to engage directly with admissions experts, fostering a valuable connection between students in Macao and one of the world’s leading institutions of higher education.
The University of Cambridge is consistently ranked among the top universities worldwide, recognised for its rigorous research across various fields, including science, technology, humanity and social science. Currently positioned at no. 5 in the QS World University Rankings 2025, the University of Cambridge has produced numerous groundbreaking discoveries.
During the session, Dr. Kamran Yunus provided attendees with comprehensive insights into the university's undergraduate admissions process, detailing the key steps and criteria that prospective students must navigate. He highlighted the importance of academic performance, personal statements, and admission interviews during the selection process, as well as being a well-rounded individual, noting that extracurricular activities, community involvement, and personal achievements can greatly enhance an application.
