2026 VEX Robotics Macau Championship
The International School of Macao (TIS) proudly hosted the 2026 VEX Robotics Macau Championship on January 23-24, 2026. This event brought together six schools from across Macao, showcasing the talents of over 200 students in 50 teams, in an exciting large-scale VEX competition.

Among the distinguished guests was Dr. Yang Lei, Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Innovation Engineering at MUST. In her keynote address, Dr. Lei praised the event and emphasized the essence of STEM education, stating:
“This event beautifully demonstrates what STEM education is truly about: curiosity that dares to question, creativity that designs solutions, and a courage that perseveres through challenges." Dr. Lei further remarked “We see in your designs the same creativity and precision that will one day power smart cities, advance health care, and sustainable technologies right here in Macao and across the globe”
One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of the winners of the Excellence Award, the highest honor, recognizing overall excellence in design, teamwork, competition performance, and documentation. These winners qualified for the VEX World Championship, the largest robotics competition in the world, to be held this year in St. Louis, MO, USA. Among the recipients is TIS robotics team 85301X “No!”, who will be attending the world championships for the second consecutive year, proudly representing TIS and Macao on the international stage.
TIS is honored to host this significant event, which symbolizes the promising future of innovation in Macao. As we nurture our students’ understanding of technology and creativity, vital skills for success in the 21st century, we remain committed to providing a comprehensive curriculum that emphasises STEM education and hands-on learning. Through these initiatives, we aim to inspire the next generation of innovators and contribute to the growth of STEM education within the Macao community.
