Consul General of Canada Visits TIS

In a landmark visit that highlights the importance of global education, TIS staff and students had the honour of welcoming the Consul General of Canada to Hong Kong and Macao, Mr. Charles Edwin Reeves, and Consulate representatives, including the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, for a visit to both The International School of Macao and the M.U.S.T. campus. During the visit at TIS, our student ambassadors - dedicated representatives of our student body who promote school spirit and community engagement - guided the Consul General on a tour. Their enthusiasm highlighted the importance of student involvement in fostering a supportive and collaborative educational environment.

Consul General Reeves was warmly greeted with a musical performance by our secondary students, setting a joyful tone for the occasion. Following the performance, the Consulate toured the school, engaging with students and faculty to learn more about TIS’s innovative educational approaches and community initiatives.

A highlight of the visit was a heartfelt presentation of gifts from the school, which were presented by our senior kindergarten students. This gesture underscored the collaborative spirit of TIS and the importance of international friendships.

In addition, the Consul General Reeves conducted an informative session for secondary students, discussing studying abroad, particularly in Canada. This presentation aimed to inspire our students about the diverse educational opportunities available to them and reinforced the Consulate's commitment to fostering educational relationships that benefit students in both Macao and Canada—aligning with TIS's commitment to provide multiple pathways to success for all learners.
