I joined TIS in 2019 having spent the previous ten years as an admissions officer at a U.S. university and working in two international schools in China. What I love about the university admission process is that it empowers students to make complex decisions that involve deep introspection, foresight, analysis, creativity and the ability to incorporate perspectives other than their own. I hold a certificate in College Counselling from University of California, Los Angeles and am also a PhD candidate in international education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. My areas of academic expertise are in thinking about fairness in complex selection situations, like higher education admissions, and minimizing bias in decision-making processes. I am originally from the U.S. state of Nebraska and enjoy a lot of sports, reading, coffee, and being with my family.
